A cormorant with the catch of the day!

A Young Grackle along the boulder strewn fishing pier

A Great Blue Heron

Least Sandpiper

From close by ...taking off to fly to the other side ... away from me!

Hi Anni. Thanks for that great selection of birds today. And in yet another of your Texas Hot Spots.You do seem to have a limitless list of birding spots.

Today I really love that Great Blue Heron stood proud and tall but most of all the Common Tern head shot is just brill - rarely see one so close like that.

The cormorant with its catch and the great blue heron photos are my favorites. Excellent post...great place to bird!

Nice images from a very interesting patch.(Here I go again-- the Spotted Sandpiper has a line over its eye and the white of its breast extend up in front of its shoulder.)

Wonderful shots, Anni! The Great Blue Heron is so funny, he looks like you caught him out with his thighs all moulted to bare pink. That's where we used to go for field trips, but for invertebrates, not birds, so slugging through the mud flats looking for critters.
