§ After Company....

Around here, now that Erik is back in Houston, we two are returning back to normal. Slowly. I still haven't been out birding much, we are working to get the house, and the room we set up for our son, back to being the library with tables and lounge chairs, etc. We've become slower in our golden years; taking our time rearranging etc. And, we still have tons of yard work on the to do list...but with the flooding rains the week prior, we wait for things to dry out and the mud to disappear before going on with those chores. Oh well, the migration for south Texas is near its end, so no worries on missing out too much. Here are some photos during migration, before our son paid us a visit:

Shown below, the black and white warbler, the worm eating warbler spotted at Port Aransas.  The black bellied plover spotted along Packery Channel.  The tanager and yellow breasted chat around Packery Channel PARK, and the painted bunting, seen at the Sand Dollar Road area.

§ Yellow Bird...Sit All Alone Like Me

For the last three days, I have been having connection problems with both IE and Firefox. Some sites will open, while other blogs I have an error message that states "Server Not Found". I've even tried connecting through my smartphone and it too will not load some pages. I hope soon it will clear up. In the meantime, if I don't visit with you and view your bird photos...realize I cannot connect. I'm not ignoring you --- and I appreciate your participation. Wish me luck. [Bud is having the same connection difficulties on his smartphone...with a totally different browser than I use]

During the Spring Migration I collected several photos off my camera and got way behind in sharing the images. Today, tho, I'm sharing a few spotted around our 60 mile radius from home. And going with a theme this week, it's all about yellow [the yellow breasted chat is a new one for me!!!] --

TRIVIA: The chat is considered a warbler in guide books and the science of ornithology, tho quite a few characteristics are not of the warbler family. Also, when foraging, the Yellow-breasted Chat takes food from the foliage and holds the food with its foot while eating, a behavior not observed in any other warbler species.
