  1. I love the soft light on the Night-Heron! I have been looking for the cuckoos as they usually visit here in early June. They are very unpredictable as to whether and when they nest in our area.

  2. loved to see the Masked Booby. I saw one booby in Queensland but another kind then this one. They are wonderful birds. Also loved to see the cuckoo. So different from ours :)

Take care. Hope your connections will work well. Not sure we will have 5G. They seem to dislike it over here.

  3. I just love all these birds! They are what I call mysterious. I have never heard of a Masked Booby! I am only familiar with the Blue Footed. His wings in the first picture look like silk with the sun shining on them. Excellent Cuckoo pictures, and good closeup of his bill. I never get enough of seeing the Black Crowned Night Herons.

  4. The beak on the masked booby is an interesting colour, as are the colours on the whistling duck. Lots of lovely sighting for the week. Our internet has been awful too, think there are just too many people and students home now trying to use it.

  5. A Masked Booby...I've seen those in the books and wondered what they looked like in the wild! How amazing! The beak is really different isn't it? And we are on the lookout for the Cuckoo here because we've seen them the past 2 or 3 summers! Wonderful photos! Stay safe! Hugs, Diane

  8. Hope they get your computer issues fixed soon. Always love seeing the birds you share as they often aren't ones I see around here. The masked booby is a striking bird! Thanks for hosting and hope you have a great rest of your weekend.

  9. Great closeups of the Yellow-billed Cuckoo, a species I see infrequently here. Black-billed Cuckoo is more common.

  12. Morning Anni. Good to see Yellow-billed Cuckoo again. I have been lucky to see this species both in Canada and here in the UK. Just occasionally one or two get blown across the Atlantic in the autumn and find their way to the nearest landfall, mostly The Isles of Scilly or Ireland. I guess they mostly die there because they are totally lost and unable to make the return crossing.

Enjoy your week ahead my pal.

  13. Awesome pics, as always. I've been trying to find a yellow-billed cuckoo. Several people in a group I participate in have posted pics from OK. I'm still searching. You sure got some good shots. I especially like the tail pic. Have a wonderful week!

  15. Another great series Anni, thank you! I once went to a rescue center for birds in Florida, and they had a Blue-footed booby there, along with a lot of pelicans. Fascinating to see this Masked booby. The Yellow-billed cuckoo is one I have never seen.
