Drive By "Shooting"...

Would you believe the week after all the living room work was done, the weather got "pissy"!?!! My luck, I guess. We've had nasty cold temps for South Texas, dark gloomy sky, rains, frost, high winds, even the birds are huddled and hidden for the most part. A few days back, areas of Houston were hit by 140MPH winds and a  damaging tornado!! Our son is okay...but heavy rains came with it, and flooded streets. Maybe the coming week, the weather will improve. I hope so. Its no fun driving and taking photos from the car window!!

  1. One thing we can't change, Anni, is the weather, but it looks like yolu dealt with it pretty well.

  3. So you snapped all of these after your redecoration? Really good, considering the weather! I love the mama and baby Herons. NOW I get it, your header is for Valentine's Day! So perfect.

  4. even if I had a long lens camera there is no place we could drive by and see birds like this. they are here but not for drive by, they require much walking. so sorry about the bad weather and coming just when you are taking a break to go 'bird hunting'

  7. It seems that no matter where you live the weather has not been good.
We've had flooding in some areas of the UK and of course Auckland, New Zealand has been in the news today about their flooding!
Here's to seeing improvement in the weather soon.

... meanwhile I certainly enjoyed seeing your photographs, and I do like the Valentine Header.

    My good wishes.

    All the best Jan

  8. Dear Anni, I congratulate you on finishing the living room work. It's a shame that the weather is so unpleasant now. But your drive-by-shooting successes look great ❤️!

  9. Hello,
I wish the weather would cooperate with our birding outings, it would be so nice. Beautiful variety of birds. I love the Night Heron, the GB Heron with the fish, cute capture of the Tern. The Caracara is a favorite too. Thanks for hosting. Have a great weekend.

  12. Commiserations for the weather Anni. It sounds typically British! But sometimes drive by shooting gives great results as you just proved. Hope the days improve as I am sure they will. Thanks for the link today and every week.

  13. Hello Anni :=) Weather conditions aren't too great here either, it's bitterly cold which is unusual,
so I have stayed inside, but I feel for you Anni, as walking outside has been on hold for some time, and just when you can go birding the weather holds you back. However your photos are brilliant. your capture of the Blue Heron with it's catch is stunning. My photos are of birds in a sanctuary, not really wild birds, but I'll link up after lunch.
    All the best.

  14. Anni I want to correct what I said earlier I went to a Nature Reserve so the birds were not in a Bird Sanctuary, and I though my first link didn't go through so I did it again.

  15. But your drive-by photos are fabulous. I'd rather walk as well, but hot weather and aging knees often make drive bys the best alternative these days. I hope your weather has improved. Our oldest son nad family have recently moved to the CC area. sadly they are not that much into birds so I can't recommend my favorite places (and/or yours).

  18. Hi,
I love that Juvenile Caracara, what a unique looking bird.
Our weather has been bitter cold. As I type this it is Negative 2 degrees.
