Birdin....

Last weekend, I drove to the islands. With the torrential rains and heavy flooding of the previous week, there was a lot of standing water, but very few birds. I saw quite a few shore birds, and common species seen in town like doves, egrets, ducks, terns, seagulls and grackles, so really nothing worthy of posting. These, again, I'm relying on what I have in folders, saved from previous months [except for the N. Gannet...that was taken on June 24th]...

  1. Wonderful shots of the caracara and the gannet portrait is great! Although I ticked off a White-tailed Hawk with a flyover, I would love to get a good look at one perched like yours.

  2. We're getting some rain this afternoon so it's nicer to stay inside and look at bird pics than be out and about! (maybe tomorrow!) I love the Gannet...so much detail in his face! Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Really like the first photos of the white tailed hawk but all your photos are fantastic. Also, your new yellow background on the blog is nice, super cheerful and summery, I like it :) Hope you're having a great weekend!

  5. nice birds all three. Love the Gannet, it was the reason why I went to Scotland :)
The Caracara I did see in Costa Rica, a large bird but hard to photograph. The white tailed hawk......don´t recognice it. Don´t think I have seen images of it. :)

  7. Hi Anni. Well fancy you seeing a Gannet. I hope it survived well enough to get back to sea and reverse it's journey over the Atlantic, It's well and truly lost if it does though.

Hope your weather improves and have a lovely weej.

  10. Anni I meant to tell you last week that your little Owl banners that you interchange with are always so adorable and this ones is like sunshine on a cloudy day, so sweet. I would love to see one day both a White-tailed Hawk and a Caracara. The Gannet is gorgeous, those eyes!!!
I am not sure if you knew it, or not, but my blog dashboard and notifications are very messed up and I am going to be sharing this with everyone in coming days. My dashboard is now missing over 11,500 of my blog comments. It shows only that I have 1,000 and my heart is sad, and I am physically and emotionally worn out from trying to figure out how to fix the situation. No longer do I get my email moderation notifications going on 3 months now. We have been to Blogger Help Forum dozens of times and none of the expert advice seems to be of any help for my blog. I have done everything that the experts have shared and get even more frustrated when someone says it worked for them, (most it does not help though ) yet so far none of the online remedies have brought back the missing comments. Frustrating to say the least.
