It's still been too hot to spend too much time outdoors...and my understanding is, for the last three or four weeks it's either a boiler room, disastrous forest fires, or devastating floods and violent storms across most of the US of A. I can't help but wonder about the birds...where do they go and are they safe from harm? For that matter, ALL the wildlife of our country. Hopefully there are some areas that'll keep them out of danger. In the meantime, I'm relying on some of my photos from the Spring of 2018 again...

ReplyDeleteThe Summer Tanager doesn't even look real! Looks like an artist got some pretty colors and had fun painting it! They are beautiful...each one in it's own way! We had a milder than usual July, now we'll see how August goes! lol It's hard to get out when the heat index is SO high! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteFancy ones! The only one I have actually seen is the little wren. Either fire or flood, you are right. We have had the floods and heat.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful bird photos. It's been blazing hot here to in Canada and lots of wild fires. I've been putting out fresh water for the birds. A lot of them come to drink all through the day.

Loved the Chestnut-sided and the redstart... and the wren, the tanager-- our fall migration has started already in 90 degree temperatures! Had Louisiana Waterthrush and B&W Warbler this past week. Rain every day put a bit of damper on things here as well.

ReplyDeleteOur summer has been rather different too Anni. It has actually been the best for more than 50 years - hot and dry, most unusual. ReplyDeleteJuly sure was a hot one. If not for driving the back roads, with a/c cranked, and views from my windows, I don't think I would have been out taking pictures. So far August has been better. Hope it lasts. I loved seeing the male and female redstarts. I enjoyed your springtime finds. Have a wonderful day!
