Water Birds....

The following images were all taken in one area of the Coastal Bend. All waterfowl of course since the area is a lake...
We are beginning to have much more comfortable weather. Still a bit summer like, but less humid! I will start feeling up to getting outdoors more now. Yay. And it's beginning to feel like the migratory paths will be filled with those flying south for the winter and stopping off in our spot of the world. I hope to see some good ones...

  1. Especially nice portraits of the grebe and night-heron. Good timing to get the egret before it swallowed the fish.

I especially like the Black Crowned Night Heron.
We are watching for migrants here, too. Saw a Rose-breasted Grosbeak at our feeder last week, but alas no photo.

  11. Dear Anni,
these are wonderful photos of water birds again! I didn't know the Pied-billed Grebe yet, I had to ask google for the german name and if it is also to be seen in Europe ("Bindentaucher" - and yes, but seldom, more like a random visitor ...) This bird has such a pretty face :-)
    All the best
