Closed Captioned for the Hearing Impaired...

There are times throughout our birding treks that when I get home and upload the images taken for the day, there are some that are a bit of comic relief, and I can't resist trying my hand at coming up with a caption that is as fitting as the image itself. Indulge me then, if you will...each of the two captions under the photos are to read from image 1] and 2]...left to right. From top left on your computer monitor [I hope; I guess it depends on your screen resolution] pictures are as follows:  India Blue-Pied Peafowl, Reddish Egret, Great Blue Heron, Black Bellied Whistling Duck, Yellow Crowned Night Heron, Brown Pelican, Least Tern [at least I think it's a least tern], another Great Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, and the Congress-elect is a Willet.

... perhaps you can think of a better caption?!!!

1] "The grass may be greener on this side, but how do I get back over there?"
2] "Let's twist again, like we did last summer!  Let's twist again like we did last year..."
TRIVIA: All species of peafowl are believed to be polygamous.
1] "They don't call me FLASH for nuttin'!"
2] "Who needs foot floss when I can do this?"
TRIVIA: The whistling-ducks were formerly known as tree-ducks, but only a few, such as the Black-bellied Whistling-Duck actually perch or nest in trees.

1] "He said that? She did what?"
2] "Nytol works wonders!"
TRIVIA: Pelicans incubate their eggs with the skin of their feet, essentially standing on the eggs to keep them warm.

1] "Hey ma, look what I  learned in Pilates today!"
2] "Phew....next time, I must remember Beano™ before I dine."
TRIVIA: The Least Tern prefers sandy beaches for nesting, but it will use a flat gravel roof of a building.

1] "Can you see me now?"
2] "Re-elect ME for Congress!!"
TRIVIA:  Snowy Egrets sometimes mate with other heron species and produce hybrid offspring. They have been known to hybridize with Tricolored Herons, Little Blue Herons, and Cattle Egrets.

  1. The Peafowl and whistling duck are my favorite ones, but you really got a lot of real interesting birds here today. But I have to say your captions, oh MY!!!!! They are HILARIOUS!!!! Really, I don't know how you thought of them! So, though the birds are spectacular today, your captions have to be my favorite because they made me laugh!!!! And I can't even choose a favorite one because they are ALL so funny! How long did it take to think of them?
